15 November 2012 ... Members of the Central Texas STARZZ helped at the annual City of Copperas Cove Feast of Sharing. The Annual Feast of Sharing is a joint project of the City of Copperas Cove and the Noon Exchange Club, providing a full Thanksgiving meal to all in the community. Team STARZZ is more than happy to support the community which supports us!
TEAM STARZZ SUPPORTING THE COPPERAS COVE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
On July 2-3, 2013, the Central Texas STARZZ AAU basketball organization visited the Copperas Cove Boys and Girls Club. On Tuesday, Team STARZZ volunteers Dorothy Lyons, Jessica Askew, Renea Hunter, Jasmin Lyons, Aviance Hunter, Kayla Hunter, Keana Garrett, and Ashley Tart prepared and served over one hundred “brown Bag” lunches consisting of sandwiches, chips, fruit and a drink to club members. Returning on Wednesday, Team STARZZ volunteers Dorothy Lyons, Charles Lyons, Jasmin Lyons, Keana Garrett and Ashley Tart served pizza and fruit cups, cookies and drinks, topped off with ice cream.
MTM BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
August 9, 2013. Central Texas STARZZ program directors Dorothy and Jasmin Lyons display the bags of school supplies donated to My Tutor and More. Later, they ran the basketball skills activity for the Back 2 School Bash hosted by My Tutor and More. The event was held at the Carl Levin city park in Harker Heights.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY
22 October 2011. In celebration of national Make a Difference Day and in an effort to support the community that supports us ... a number of STARZZ players from the 6th grade girls team and other parents and volunteers worked at My Brother's House, a food pantry, in Copperas Cove, Texas. The volunteers dug out the flower beds and replaced the rocks and liner, trimmed hedges, and bagged the cans from the recycle bin. Special thanks to Patty Shepherd, Shay Johnson, Torrey Taylor, and Claudine Tanner who chipped in and helped to supervise. Special thanks to our teens who helped, Alexus Johnson, Kariem Johnson, Tlesha Taylor, and Elysia Tanner. Thanks Tylese.

With the Noon Exchange Club of Copperas Cove, Five members of the Central Texas STARZZ helped to collect food items and monetary donations for My Brothers House food pantry and the Copperas Cove Soup Kitchen. The event was held at the Copperas Cove Walmart. This was the first time that the STARZZ and Noon Exchange Club (STARZZ sponsors) worked together on a project of this type. Over 550 lbs of food items were collected and $1200 in donations.PICTURES

November 7, 2013. Dennis Ayres (President, Noon Exchange Club of Copperas Cove and Dorothy Lyons (Director, Central Texas STARZZ) presents the Copperas Cove Soup Kitchen a check for $400. The two organizations conducted a food drive on October 26, at the Copperas Cove Walmart, in support of national Make A Difference Day with proceeds going to My Brothers House Food Bank and the Copperas Cove Soup Kitchen.
